Responsibilities
- Supervise students during recess and outdoor playtime to ensure their safety and well-being.
- Encourage positive social interactions and conflict resolution among students.
- Monitor playground equipment and report any safety hazards or maintenance needs.
- Assist students in organizing games and activities, promoting teamwork and inclusivity.
- Enforce school rules and policies related to playground behavior and safety.
- Communicate effectively with school staff, parents, and students regarding any concerns or incidents.
- Maintain a clean and organized playground area, ensuring it is free from hazards.
- Participate in training sessions and meetings as required by school administration.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Previous experience working with children in a school or recreational setting is a plus.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively with staff and students.
- Knowledge of child development and age-appropriate play activities.
- Ability to remain calm and composed in challenging situations.
- First aid and CPR certification is preferred but not required (training may be provided).
- Must be able to pass a background check as required by school policy.
- Availability to work part-time hours during school days, including recess times.
