Responsibilities
- Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) tailored to meet the unique needs of each student.
- Collaborate with general education teachers to ensure appropriate accommodations and modifications are in place.
- Assess student progress and adapt instructional methods to enhance learning outcomes.
- Provide direct instruction in academic and life skills to students with varying disabilities.
- Create a positive and supportive classroom environment that encourages student engagement and participation.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of student performance and progress.
- Communicate regularly with parents and guardians regarding student achievements and challenges.
- Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings to discuss student needs and progress.

Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Special Education or a related field; Master’s degree preferred.
- Valid state teaching certification in Special Education.
- Experience working with students with disabilities, preferably in a high school setting.
- Strong understanding of IEP development and implementation.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively with educators, parents, and support staff.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.

- Proficiency in technology and educational software relevant to special education.
