Program Coordinator - Child Advocacy Center

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Social Services related field.
• Three years supervisory experience in human service delivery.
• Experience in Grant Writing and completion of programmatic reporting
• Working knowledge of Accreditation standards at both the Federal and State level.
• Prior case management and child welfare experience a plus.
• Must be willing to work non-traditional hours.
• Ability to work effectively with a multidisciplinary team to provide a trauma-informed approach.
• Trained as a Forensic Interviewer through the National Child Advocacy Center, preferred.

Organizational Relationships and General Description:

• Reports to Director of Advocacy and Twin Cedars CAC Board of Directors.
• Responsible for all direct supervision of employees, interns, and contractors assigned to the CAC.
• Responsible for submitting RFP’s and maintaining grants to results in a zero-balanced budget at an operating cost of $325,000.
• Responsible for maintaining on-call after hour’s procedure.
• Represents Twin Cedars Child Advocacy Center at National, State, and Local levels.
• Ensures compliance with program guidelines, protocols, rules, regulations, standards, and statues.
• Ability to work effectively with a multidisciplinary team composed of members from: the Department of Human Resources, local, state, and federal law enforcement, members from the 5th and 37th judicial circuits, medical and mental health professionals, and intensive in-home service professionals.
• Interacts with all Twin Cedars Youth Services (TCYS) staff.

Description of Key Responsibilities

Provides programmatic oversight for all Twin Cedars Child Advocacy Center staff.

• Supervises all services related to: forensic interviews, trauma-focused therapy, family advocacy, and forensic medical examinations
• Recruit, hire, train, develop, supervise, and evaluate all staff and interns. Complete annual PAI’s and mid and final evaluations for both Bachelors and Masters level interns
• Identifies ongoing opportunities to expand services to clients in Lee and Macon county
• Serves as primary contact for receipt of all legal subpoenas and collaborates with contracted attorney on an as needed basis.
• Actively seeks training opportunities to ensure staff meet training requirements while adhering to best practices (peer review, forensic interviews, mental health CEUs, forensic medical CEUs)
• Ensures incident and accident reports are accurate and submitted properly in a time efficient manner
• Conducts programmatic staff meetings, supervision, and PAI’s and provide supervisory feedback
• Adheres to HR policies and procedures when providing disciplinary action to ensure quality services are provided to all clients.
• Provides position specific agency orientation for all CAC employees and interns
• Maintains staff scheduling and submission of time and effort reports to HR, Finance, and VOCA
• Utilizes conflict resolution strategies to assist in identifying solutions to employee/client/stakeholder disputes
• Monitors and evaluates programs to determine if they are meeting established goals and objectives
• Proactively conducts center safety inspections to indicate areas of concern and ensure they are addressed.

Leadership in Stakeholder Collaboration

• Provides oversight for interagency cooperation and ensures that positive working relationships are promoted among all agencies, organizations, and counties within the judicial circuit.
• Serves as a CAC chairperson during Multidisciplinary Team Meetings; remain an active member of all circuit wide case review meetings.
• Serves as a CAC representative on Child Fatality Review committee
• Conducts forensic interviews within Chattahoochee Judicial Circuit
• Actively participates in policy development and implementation for all CAC programs

Fiscal Operations and Grant Writing Responsibilities

• Pursues federal, state, and private foundation dollars and private contributions to support the daily operations of the agency.
• Write, maintain, and manage grants (to include but not limited to: ADECA, ANCAC, United Way, Lee County Commission, City of Auburn, City of Opelika, Children’s Justice Task Force, etc.)
• Assist in the preparation of agency budgets related to the physical, financial, and staffing resources and be accountable for control of these resources once approved following TCYFS policies and procedures
• Supervises the collection and analysis of all statistical data, reviews and approves quarterly reports in a timely manner
• Directs and administers all grant activities and programmatic reporting.

Maintains National and State Accreditation standards

• Organizes all required site review materials and timely submission for ANCAC, VOCA, and COA
• Serves as liaison and point of contact to all site-review team members
• Stays abreast of current National and State Accreditation standards
• Identifies areas where a gap exists and works toward revision

Serves as agency representative at ANCAC sponsored meetings.

• Attend Alabama Network of Child Advocacy Center scheduled meetings
• Serve on ANCAC Board of Directors
• Participate in appointed committees as voted on by the Executive Committee

Serves as Lee (37th Judicial Circuit) and Macon (5th Judicial Circuit) Child Abuse Protocol Coordinator.

• Serves as interagency intermediary to ensure compliance with child abuse protocol
• Assists in the preparation and updates of the county wide child abuse protocol regularly
• Disseminates Child Abuse Protocol to requesting agencies and fields any questions regarding its implementation and utilization

Provides all Duties of a Forensic Interviewer on an as needed basis

• Conducts sensitive and thorough forensic interviews on children and adolescents who may be victims or witnesses to a crime
• Responsible for forensic interview documentation including digital recording, note taking, and data entry
• Consults with investigative team members before forensic interviews to gather relevant information related to the allegations/investigation
• Work closely with local, state, and federal law enforcement and DHR in the scheduling of forensic interviews and SANE Exams. Strictly adheres to evidentiary chain of custody.
• Provide expert testimony in judicial proceedings.
• Consults with the District Attorney’s office for prosecution strategies
• Educates team members as needed regarding forensic interviews, forensically sensitive and trauma informed questioning, and issues related to child development, delayed disclosures, and victimology

Serves as Community Child Abuse Education/Outreach Facilitator

• Conducts presentations on the following topics: mandatory training, signs and symptoms of child abuse, AL sex abuse laws, age of consent, and others as requested
• Conducts speaking engagements to educate community members of the mission/vision of the CAC
• Organizes opportunities for stakeholder training collaboration
• Responsible for organization of annual Child Abuse Proclamation in Lee and Macon county

Pay: $45,000.00 - $55,000.00 per year
