About the Role
The Senior Design Manager is a leadership position responsible for guiding complex K–12, commercial, and institutional projects from concept through construction. You will work closely with school districts, stakeholders, and internal teams to deliver high-quality, compliant, and functional design solutions.
This role offers the opportunity to lead teams, influence design direction, and contribute to projects that directly impact educational environments and communities.
What You Will Do
- Lead design and delivery of new construction, renovation, and campus improvement projects
- Serve as a trusted advisor to clients, including school districts and administrators
- Oversee project scope, schedule, budget, and staffing
- Mentor and lead architects, project managers, and technical staff
- Coordinate with internal and external teams to ensure alignment and execution
- Guide projects through all phases including permitting, bidding, and construction
- Ensure compliance with codes, accessibility standards, and K–12 requirements
- Lead meetings, workshops, and stakeholder presentations
What You Bring
- Bachelor’s degree in Architecture required; Master’s preferred
- 10 years of architectural experience with project leadership
- Experience delivering K–12, commercial, or institutional projects
- Strong leadership, communication, and client management skills
- Ability to manage multiple projects and teams
Preferred
- Experience working with public school districts
- Familiarity with funding processes and stakeholder coordination
Good Faith Salary Range: The annual starting salary for this position is between $110,000 to $140,000 annually. Factors which may affect starting pay within this range may include geography/market, skills, education, experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate.
