Job Summary
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Painter Helper to join our dynamic construction and renovation team. In this role, you will assist experienced painters in preparing surfaces, handling tools, and executing painting projects across residential, commercial, and industrial sites. Responsibilities
- Assist with surface preparation including sanding, scraping, caulking, and priming to ensure optimal paint adhesion and finish quality
- Support painters with the application of paint using hand tools, brushes, rollers, and airless spray equipment such as conventional and airless paint sprayers
- Prepare construction sites by setting up scaffolding, protecting surrounding areas, and ensuring safety regulations are followed at all times
- Interpret technical drawings, schematics, blueprints, and color schemes to accurately execute painting tasks according to project specifications
- Handle basic carpentry tasks such as trim carpentry, fixture installation, framing, and drywall repair as needed for renovation projects
- Maintain cleanliness of tools and work areas; operate power tools safely including drills, sanders, wrenches, and welding equipment when required
- Support surface repairs like plastering, stucco application, masonry work, and concrete finishing to ensure surfaces are ready for painting
Qualifications
- Prior experience or familiarity with construction site work is preferred but not required; a strong willingness to learn is essential
- Basic knowledge of construction estimating, blueprint reading, schematics interpretation, and color theory is advantageous
- Ability to use hand tools and power tools safely and effectively in a variety of tasks including caulking, sanding, and surface preparation
- Understanding of safety regulations including the proper use of respiratory protection and personal protective equipment (PPE) on construction sites
- Good physical stamina with the ability to stand, bend, lift heavy materials or equipment regularly throughout the day
- Basic math skills for measurements and calculations related to surface preparation and paint coverage
- Strong communication skills; ability to follow instructions clearly from supervisors or lead painters
- Valid driver’s license is a plus for traveling between multiple job sites
