About the role
TVAMP is hiring a technical expert to own and elevate the insurance and annuity side of our integrated wealth management practice. This is not a sales role and carries no production quota.
You will be the firm’s go-to authority on annuities and insurance — reviewing our entire in-force annuity book, guiding advisors through case design and carrier selection, and shepherding new business through underwriting to placement. If you’re an internal wholesaler, advanced-markets consultant, or case-design specialist who loves the technical craft but doesn’t want to be out selling, this seat is built for you.
Because this is an in-office position, candidates must either live in the Knoxville area or be willing to relocate. A relocation stipend is available.

What you’ll do
- Own and continuously review the firm’s entire in-force annuity book — riders, subaccounts, fee structures, surrender schedules, income and death-benefit provisions, RMDs, and ongoing suitability.
- Serve as the firm’s registered representative of record for our annuity and brokerage business.
- Act as the internal technical resource on variable, fixed, and indexed annuities: 1035 exchange analysis, rider utilization, income planning, and product comparisons.
- Support advisors on insurance planning — life, disability, and long-term care — including illustration review, case design, and carrier selection.
- Run new business end to end: application follow-up, underwriting requirements, informal and formal underwriting, carrier coordination, and policy delivery.
- Keep clean suitability and compliance documentation in coordination with our operations and compliance teams and LPL supervision.
- Teach and level up the advisor team — we’re an education-first firm, and this role is a big part of that.
Who you are
- Deep annuity and insurance product knowledge, likely built at a carrier or IMO — internal or desk wholesaling, advanced sales, case design, or advisory-side insurance operations.
- Energized by the analytical and service side of the work, not by prospecting or quotas.
- Detail-oriented, organized, and genuinely helpful — the person advisors trust to get it right.
- Qualifications
- 5 years in annuities and/or insurance in a technical, wholesaling, or case-design capacity.
- Active Series 7, Series 63 and 65 (or 66), and a life & health insurance license with variable authority.
- Strong command of annuity contract mechanics, 1035 exchanges, RMDs, and suitability / Reg BI standards.
- Insurance underwriting familiarity a plus.
