Do you want to apply your experience, skills and education in a way that makes a meaningful and lasting difference in the lives of our patients and their families? At Tennessee Cancer Specialists, it is the privilege of our employees to walk with our patients and their families as they move along the journey of fighting cancer. Whether you are working directly with patients in one of our clinics or in a support role, you are an important part of our mission to deliver the highest quality, compassionate care. Our 300 employees make up the teams at our 17 different East Tennessee locations!

As an Insurance Specialist, you will follow up on patient accounts and confirm the accuracy of those accounts to ensure payor and patient payments are received in an appropriate amount of time.

Responsibilities

Here's what might happen on a typical day…

In this role, you use your investigative skills to determine the reasoning for aging claims and recognize any trends among these aging claims. Your customer service skills will allow you to respectfully communicate with payors and compassionately work with our patients to collect payments.

While it can be challenging to balance persistence to resolve an account with empathy, your professionalism allows you to do just that!

Experiences That Matter…

  • Your attention to detail allows you to review and audit aging patient accounts to ensure accurate and timely payments and report any inconsistencies that might be found along the way.
  • In conversations with patients, coworkers, and other professionals, you provide exceptional customer service through communicating respectfully, thoroughly listening to all shared details and asking any appropriate questions.
  • Identifying errors on accounts and following through to conclusion is one of your many strengths.
  • Your ability to connect with multiple types of personalities and professionals allows you to openly communicate in a timely manner with payors, collection agencies, coworkers, and patients.
  • Backing up other members of the billing department with verifying and obtaining all necessary patient insurance and benefit coverage information confirms that you are a team player.

Your go-getter work ethic will have you ready to jump in and help out with any additional tasks
