Duties
- Greet customers warmly and provide knowledgeable assistance about sweet corn varieties and pricing
- Operate sales register using Square, processing cash and card transactions accurately
- Maintain cleanliness of the sales area, including handling food safety and food handling protocols
- Manage inventory levels throughout the market day, restocking displays as needed
- Assist in setting up and breaking down the sales booth each day
- Provide excellent customer service by answering questions, and promoting and expediting sales in a sometimes fast-paced environment.
Experience
- Previous retail sales or food service experience preferred, especially in a farmers market or café setting
- Familiarity with Square readers and hot spots a plus
- Experience in farming, retail sales, customer service, food service, or barista work is advantageous
- Strong math skills for retail math, cash handling, and processing transactions accurately
- Excellent customer service skills with a friendly, energetic attitude
- Ability to stand for extended periods and perform light cleaning duties efficiently
- Basic time management skills to ensure smooth operation during busy market hours
