About the Role
As a Teacher/Tutor at Tutor Zone, you will:
- Provide One-on-One Tutoring: Conduct individualized tutoring sessions in ELA and Math.
- Teach Small Groups: Guide students in small-group settings to foster collaboration and confidence.
- Assess Student Needs: Identify strengths and weaknesses to tailor lessons for different learning styles.
- Explain Concepts Clearly: Break down complex ideas into simple, engaging explanations.
- Homework & Assignment Support: Assist students with daily schoolwork, projects, and exam preparation.
- Promote Critical Thinking: Encourage problem-solving and analytical skills that extend beyond the classroom.
- Monitor Progress: Track student growth and adjust strategies to ensure success.
What We're Looking For
- Experience teaching or tutoring Grades K–8 (ELA & Math proficiency required)
- Tutors for higher grade levels — including High School, GED, and SAT/ACT prep — with strong Math proficiency required
- Enthusiasm, patience, and creativity in engaging students
- Strong communication skills and ability to adapt to diverse learning needs
- Prior teaching/tutoring experience preferred (certification is a plus but not required)
- A team player with a passion for education and student success
