SPED Tutor for Reading and Comprehension

About the Role: As an Tutor at Tutor Me Education, you'll provide personalized, one-on-one tutoring to students with special needs in their homes. You will be responsible for helping students with daily activities, offering moral support, and delivering tailored instruction based on their Individualized Education Plan (IEP).

We are currently hiring for multiple positions across all cities in Coachella, CA

Details:

• In-Person Tutoring in Coachella, CA
• Schedule: 10 hours, 2 days a week for 1.25 hour sessions
• Pay range is between $25 and $35
  
  

Ideal Candidate:

• Experience working with students with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and speech/language impairments (SLI).
• Skilled in supporting reading fluency, comprehension, and foundational literacy at early elementary levels.
• Ability to provide clear, structured, and engaging instruction using multisensory and hands-on strategies.
• Patient, adaptable, and able to implement positive reinforcement and behavior management strategies.
• Strong communication, organization, and motivational skills.
• Comfortable incorporating student interests, such as movies, games, and physical activities, into lessons to increase engagement
  
  

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide individualized instruction focused on reading fluency and comprehension for early elementary levels.
• Use interactive, engaging, and hands-on methods to maintain motivation and support retention.
• Implement behavior management strategies, including breaks, movement, and rewards, to help the student stay on task.
• Incorporate student interests, such as movies, Minecraft, Roblox, and swimming, into lesson plans to enhance engagement.
• Collaborate with caregivers to monitor progress, provide feedback, and adjust instruction as needed.
• Maintain a patient, supportive, and positive learning environment that promotes confidence and independence.
• Follow structured curriculum guidelines, such as the TME program, while adapting lessons to the student's individual needs
