Details:
- In-Person Tutoring in Downey, CA
- Schedule: 25 hours, 5x per week for 1 hour
- Pay range is between $25 and $35
- Fluent in both English and Spanish
- Experience working with students with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), global developmental delay, and speech delays
- Strong background in foundational literacy and foundational math instruction
- Skilled in teaching phonemic awareness, phonics, sight words, and early reading comprehension
- Patient, friendly, outgoing, and able to maintain a structured learning environment with gentle firmness
- Experience supporting social-emotional learning (SEL) and emotional regulation strategies
- Comfortable collaborating alongside ABA and speech therapy supports
- Able to use visual supports, repetition, multisensory instruction, and positive reinforcement techniques
- Familiar with supporting students functioning at a kindergarten academic level
- Strong communication and rapport-building skills to help reduce anxiety and increase engagement
- Provide individualized instruction in foundational literacy and foundational math skills
- Teach phonemic awareness, phonics, sight word recognition, and early reading fluency and comprehension
- Support early writing development, including handwriting, letter formation, and language organization skills
- Reinforce vocabulary development and communication skills using structured, engaging activities
- Incorporate social-emotional learning (SEL) strategies to support confidence, emotional regulation, and participation
- Use patient, calm redirection and positive reinforcement during moments of frustration or anxiety
- Create structured, engaging lessons using visuals, music, movement, drawing, and preferred activities
- Support kindergarten readiness and functional academic skill development through repetition and guided practice
- Collaborate with caregivers and align instruction with existing ABA and speech therapy supports
- Monitor progress and adapt lessons to support continued academic and emotional growth
