Details:
- In-Person Tutoring in Compton, CA
- Schedule: 25 Hours per month, 5 days a week for 1 to 1.5
- Pay rate range is $25-$35 per hour
- Credentialed Teacher
- Fluent in both English and Spanish
- Extensive experience working with students with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and intellectual disabilities
- Strong background in foundational literacy and foundational math instruction
- Skilled in behavior management, sensory supports, and play-based learning strategies
- Able to provide structured, engaging, and movement-based instruction for high-energy learners
- Familiar with token boards, visual schedules, timers, and positive reinforcement systems
- Patient, energetic, and able to maintain consistent routines and clear expectations
- Experienced in teaching early reading, comprehension, and foundational math concepts using hands-on methods
- Comfortable adapting instruction to support sensory and behavioral needs while maintaining engagement
- Strong communication and collaboration skills with families regarding progress and strategies
- Conduct an initial assessment to identify current academic strengths and skill gaps
- Provide individualized instruction in foundational literacy, reading fluency, comprehension, and early math skills
- Use hands-on, interactive, and play-based teaching methods to support engagement and learning
- Implement structured behavior support strategies, including token boards, timers, and scheduled breaks
- Teach foundational academic concepts using visuals, manipulatives, repetition, and guided practice
- Support emotional regulation and smooth transitions through predictable routines and positive reinforcement
- Create engaging lessons that incorporate movement and sensory-friendly activities to sustain participation
- Monitor student progress and adjust instruction based on academic and behavioral needs
- Foster a safe, encouraging, and structured learning environment that builds confidence and independence
- Maintain ongoing communication with caregivers regarding progress, strategies, and session updates
