Details
- In-Person Tutoring in Hemet, CA
- Schedule: 2 session for 1-2 hrs
- Rate is between $25 and $35
Reading Support:
- Deliver scaffolded instruction to improve reading comprehension, including:
- Identifying main ideas and supporting details
- Making inferences and understanding text structures (e.g., cause and effect, compare/contrast)
- Assist with planning, organizing, and sequencing written responses
- Teach pre-writing strategies using outlines and graphic organizers
- Support development of topic sentences, supporting details, and cohesive paragraph structure
- Use sentence starters, models, and prompts to help the student initiate and maintain focus during writing tasks
- Provide targeted help with multi-step word problems
- Teach step-by-step strategies using visual models and real-world examples
- Support conceptual understanding and application of properties of operations (e.g., distributive property, combining like terms, factoring/expanding expressions)
- Use manipulatives, visual tools, and frequent checks for understanding to reinforce learning
- Implement proactive behavioral strategies to support focus, emotional regulation, and task completion
- Use visual schedules, breaks, reinforcement systems, and first/then prompts
- Recognize signs of frustration or dysregulation and respond with consistent, calming strategies
- Integrate social-emotional support into academic sessions as needed
- Leverage the student’s interests in video creation, animation, and content development to personalize academic tasks
- Support motivation by integrating creative tools and student-led projects (e.g., script writing, storytelling, math in video production, etc.)
- ABA Certification (Required)
- Experience working with students with Autism and learning differences
- Background in special education, RSP, or academic intervention at the middle school level
- Familiarity with behavioral supports and executive functioning strategies
- Ability to create structured, engaging, and emotionally supportive learning environments
- Strong communication skills for working with families and collaborating with virtual speech support professionals
