Tusk Industrial is seeking a dedicated RTM Assembler C for our manufacturing facility in Telford, PA. This is a full-time UAW union position focused on high-performance pumping and fluid handling solutions for extreme industrial environments. We provide specialized equipment for chemical processing and wastewater treatment through our leading brands, including Dean, Fybroc, and Sethco.
The RTM Assembler C is responsible for assembling composite parts using Resin Transfer Molding techniques. This role involves preparing molds, positioning reinforcements, injecting resin, and ensuring all components meet strict quality and safety standards. The ideal candidate possesses mechanical aptitude and specific experience in composite manufacturing and resin injection processes.
Responsibilities
- Prepare molds and materials for RTM processes including cleaning, applying release agents, and positioning preforms.
- Assemble composite components according to engineering drawings, work instructions, and quality standards.
- Inject resin into molds using RTM equipment and monitor curing cycles to ensure proper part formation.
- Unload and maintain cured molds while preparing and loading fiberglass and related materials into various mold shapes.
- Assemble routine units such as pumps, systems, and filters using standardized operating methods.
- Perform hand sanding, oiling, and grinding of various shaped parts to remove burrs and flashing using power and hand tools.
- Inspect finished parts for defects and dimensional accuracy to ensure compliance with engineering specifications.
- Conduct repetitive quality tests using standardized methods and procedures involving visual checking.
- Repair a variety of parts suffering from cosmetic imperfections to meet production standards.
- Maintain accurate production records and report any equipment issues or material deviations.
- Operate hand tools and power tools safely and efficiently in a fast-paced production environment.
- Collaborate with team members to meet production targets and deadlines with minimum supervision.
- Use computer systems including MS Office to input data and track production progress.
- Guide the efforts of other team members in the same or lower grade levels as needed.
- Follow all safety protocols and maintain a clean and organized work area at all times.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent is required.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience assembling parts using Resin Transfer Molding techniques.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience operating RTM equipment.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience grinding various shaped parts and repairing cosmetic imperfections.
- Technical training in composites or composite manufacturing preferred.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and complex work instructions.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and proficiency with a variety of hand and power tools.
- Basic computer skills including experience with Microsoft Office.
- Strong attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining high quality standards.
- Ability to communicate effectively across all levels of the organization.
- Self-directed work ethic with the ability to excel independently and as a team player.
