What are the responsibilities and job description for the Office Administrator position at Tuscarora Company, LLC?
Position Overview:
This position requires exceptional administrative, organizational, and interpersonal skills for service at a local private investment company which has been in Rocky Mount for sixty years. Corporate Culture:
Mutual respect, loyalty, empathy, sincerity, authenticity, collaboration, ethics and integrity, diligence, philanthropy, politeness, consistency, support, and a work-life balance.
Core Tasks and Responsibilities:
Our company tracks activity and performance in client investment portfolios using proprietary Excel spreadsheets; these are updated and reconciled each business day. Certain specialized investments require the preparation, execution, and maintenance of essential records and the initiation of wire transfers.
This position is particularly well suited to someone who is adaptable and comfortable working across multiple areas in a small office setting. Other duties may include, but not be limited to: banking, voting proxies, scheduling appointments, planning and managing internal office events, etc.
The ideal candidate brings enough experience to maintain all aspects of a General Ledger from the outset; candidates without this experience should have the desire, flexibility, and motivation to learn.
Skills and Temperament:
- This is a math-heavy role requiring strong quantitative skills and confidence working with spreadsheets and financial data.
- Uncanny attention to detail.
- Demonstrated commitment to dependability, trustworthiness, and confidentiality.
- Be intellectually curious, ask questions, and speak up when you have an idea.
- Able to work independently and use good judgment about when to update and escalate matters.
- Emotional maturity and business savviness.
- Because we work in a small office, the successful candidate must interact well with colleagues and be able to develop strong professional relationships with clients and external associates.
Requirements:
- Advanced Excel proficiency required. Candidates should be comfortable creating and troubleshooting nested formulas, reconciling data across worksheets, tracing errors, and maintaining complex spreadsheets independently; candidates whose experience is limited to basic data entry or simple calculations in prebuilt spreadsheets would likely struggle.
- Ability to complete rigorous pre-employment assessments, background and reference checks, and drug screening successfully.
- Possession of a valid driver's license.
Benefits:
Company rewards package includes a competitive salary and a benefits package, including company-paid health and life insurance with an immediately-vesting 401(k) with employer match.
