Job Summary:
Due to grant requirements, US Citizenship is required. This position will support our chemistry R&D team. Able to work independently and looking to develop his/her skills in the lab. Perform the testing on raw materials, finished products, and other samples. Experience in/ exposure to inorganic chemistry is a must.
Essential Job Functions and Duties
Works under the supervision of the Senior Chemists and Senior team members to perform the following job functions:
- Assists in developing, reviewing, submitting, and filing reports on industrial product tests, calibration, validation, and other projects.
- Develops and validates analytical methods, Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), and other operating, safety, and quality documents.
- Performs routine operation, maintenance, calibration, qualification, and ability to troubleshoot laboratory equipment/instruments
- Inputs and maintains technical information to support the laboratory functions/operations.
- Completes laboratory tasks and assignments within tight deadlines.
- Manages multiple projects as assigned.
- Maintains Laboratory Notebook.
- Adheres to internal and regulatory standards, policies, and procedures.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Job Qualifications:
Experience and Education
- Experience in/ exposure to inorganic chemistry is a must.
- Bachelor of Science Degree in Chemistry or similar field of study.
- 0-2 years of experience, general chemistry.
Knowledge, Skills and Attributes
- Science - Using scientific rules and methods to solve problems.
- Problem Solving - Identifying problems and reviewing related information to develop and evaluate options and implement solutions.
- Familiarity with wet chemistry and good laboratory practices is a plus.
- Computer - Ability to use various computer software and systems.
Work Environment and Physical Requirements:
- Laboratory environment working with various chemicals and equipment.
- Ability to stand at the bench and work in a laboratory environment
- Noise level is usually moderate.
- Able to lift 55 pounds and assist in moving 50-gallon drums/barrels on occasion
