Electro-Mechanical Field Service Technician

What this job is about:

This is a challenging job where you will service, install and maintain a variety of equipment using experience, support and on the job training of all of the trades. We work on electrical, plumbing, pneumatics, heating, installing, light carpentry... aka a lot. We work throughout the region of eastern PA, NJ, DE and MD so you'll be on the road as a tech. We work independently and as a team so you'll need to understand the nuance of both. This is business to business work so you will be pushed. You MUST have good working knowledge of electrical in an industrial environment. That means control and three phase. We are not house electricians so 120volt light circuits is not enough for us.

Turnkey Automotive Solutions is seeking a Field Service Technician and Installer for the Eastern PA and NJ area. You will need to immerse yourself in the Car Wash industry, apply knowledge and experience from whatever field you come from and learn quickly. You will adapt to changing priorities and be a go to tech and/or installer responsible for equipment maintenance and repair, and installation of automated and self serve car wash equipment, and for keeping related records. Also, he/she recommends changes in systems, programs and equipment to improve reliability, increase capability, and/or reduce customer costs. The Field Service Technician performs the following duties in the field with minimal supervision and coaching. This position offers varying work schedules and a rotating on-call schedule. Local travel is required daily. Technical experience is required. Car wash service experience is preferred!

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Responsible to troubleshoot chemical, mechanical, electro-mechanical, electronic equipment, controllers and supplies.
• Performs diagnostic analysis.
• Assist in the installation of new car wash equipment
• Performs periodic scheduled and corrective maintenance of installed equipment in an assigned territory.
• Repairs and corrects malfunctions as necessary.
• Modifies or updates equipment when required.
• Prepares detailed service and failure records and recommends changes to customer on a regular basis to improve customer revenues and reduce customer total costs
• Maintains tools, test equipment, and materials in a professional manner.
• May work with processes that are unique or particular to customer needs.
• Councils clients relating to use, operation, and maintenance of equipment.
• Is involved in the problem solving process regarding customer complaints.
• Good communication skills. Interfaces with customers and appropriate related company personnel to insure effective communications and dissemination of information required in establishing superior customer service.
• Coordinates and keeps abreast of new developments and innovations leading to improved departmental and company performance.
• Requires technical knowledge to perform the job. Develops improved methods for fulfilling responsibilities.
• Accurately perceives information from others. Assures appropriate flow of information, and reports matters clearly, concisely, and accurately.
• MUST be computer and tech savvy. All paperwork is online and communication is done electronically.
• Reports daily to the Field Service Manager about any outstanding issues.

QUALIFICATIONS

• MINIMUM 5 years of related experience.
• 2 years of industrial electrical experience. Must understand 12vdc, 24vdc, 24vac, 120vac, 208vac-480vac.
• Lifting requirements 75 lbs.
• Ability to read and understand electrical diagrams
• Ability to disassemble and reassamble mechanical pieces you've probably never seen using common sense, exploded views, and minimal hand holding.
• Excellent employee and customer relations skills
• Experience with Car Wash Equipment a plus.
• Neat and clean in appearance and possess an excellent driving record
• Background check is a requirement

Required education:

• High school or equivalent

Required experience:

• Electrical troubleshooting: 5 years
• Mechanical and Technical: 5 years
• Industrial Mechanic or Field Service: 3 years

Required license or certification:

• Driver's License

Commission, bonus and competitive pay available for the right experienced person.

Pay: $22.00 - $40.00 per hour
