What does a Workforce Planning Analyst do?
- Forecast, plan, and create work schedules for assigned departments based on productivity and labor standards.
- Lead scheduling and workforce administration responsibilities for assigned departments.
- Leverage workforce management technologies (e.g., Virtual Roster, UKG, UKG Pro Forecasting, or similar) to enhance workforce performance by applying forecasting and scheduling analytics for data-driven decision-making.
- Own the maintenance of team member Profiles including skills, languages, experience level, competencies, availability, etc.
- Manage call-outs and utilize UKG technologies to find/assign replacement team members per workforce requirements and promptly send notification to each department leader related to the change in schedule.
- Prepare and publish daily roster schedules, daily timesheets and share with appropriate department leaders and team members in a timely manner.
- Demonstrate a deep understanding of business unit volumes, team member roles and competencies, and staffing requirements by leveraging data and analytics to identify gaps and ensure optimal workforce deployment.
- Coordinate with department leaders to ensure proper staffing levels and effective use of labor resources considering business/unit volumes, leaves of absences, PTO, and applicable breaks, while minimizing use of overtime.
- Maintain optimal staffing schedules to meet service level expectations and operational productivity goals.
- Communicate weekly shift schedules to team members (2) weeks prior to work date (or within designated schedule posts requirements) to ensure team members are aware of their schedule and any changes. Ensure team members are aware of shift/schedule changes in a timely fashion.
- Review and approve time-off requests, schedule changes, and shift swaps based on operational need, and desired productivity measures. Consult with operational leader as appropriate.
- Monitor daily performance volumes and call-outs. Assist department leaders with real-time schedule adjustments to optimize productivity and meet operational needs.
- Analyze workforce data to identify trends, variances and improvement opportunities and communicate such to operational and Workforce Management leadership.
- Track and report patterns/trends regarding attendance, call-outs and absenteeism and provide reports to department leader on a regular cadence based on leaders’ preference.
- Meet regularly and collaborate with the Workforce Planning Manager, Director of Workforce Management and your assigned department leadership team.
- Act as a back-up Workforce Planning Analyst for peers in similar roles (Workforce Planning Analyst) as necessary.
- Serve as the primary liaison with the assigned operating executive, ensuring clear, consistent communication on all workforce management initiatives. Provide regular updates on Think Differently priorities—including scheduling, change management, and collaborative efforts—to drive alignment and informed decision-making.

Work Experience
To be successful as a Workforce Planning Analyst, you'll need:
- High school diploma or equivalent; bachelor's degree preferred.
- Strong technical and computer skills (i.e., UKG, Forecaster, Excel, etc.).
- 1 - 2 years of scheduling or similar analytical experience with a large hotel/resort/casino or similar complex organization with variable hourly schedules and shifts.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Demonstrated expertise in problem-solving and analysis, with a proven track record of reviewing and interpreting employment and labor data to guide operational decisions.
- On-site position that may require flexible work schedules and/or travel to local work sites.
- This job operates in a professional office or similar environment.
- This role routinely uses standard office and computer equipment.
- Ability to stand/walk for long periods of time and lift up to 11 - 20 pounds.
