You’ll partner closely with People & Culture, Finance, Benefits, and Cash Management, making a real impact by safeguarding accuracy, elevating efficiency, and delivering outstanding service across the organization.
What you will do as a Payroll Specialist:
- Collect & process payroll data: gather, calculate, and enter employee earnings, timecards (including events/orientations), deductions, commissions, tips, gratuities into systems like UKG Pro, Wurk, or Paychex
- Timecard accuracy: review and maintain accurate team member time records
- Payroll changes: handle new hires, terminations, wage increases, retroactive pay, manual system adjustments
- Record keeping & reporting: maintain accurate electronic and physical payroll files; generate post-run reports (childcare, rent, AP, commission, net-spend), W-2s, Social Security reports
- Partnering across departments: collaborate with People & Culture (Workforce Management, HRIS, Onboarding, Benefits); liaise with sourcing, cash management, vendors
- System management & SOPs: retrieve legacy Paychex data; manage payroll software imports; build and document standard operating procedures for payroll tasks
- Team member support: respond to inquiries (in person, email, phone); analyze and resolve payroll discrepancies

Work Experience

- Bachelor’s degree (Accounting, Finance, Business) or equivalent.
- Proficiency in payroll systems (UKG Pro, Wurk, Paychex).
- Strong knowledge of payroll tax reporting and compliance.
- Excellent written/verbal communication and attention to detail.
- Proficient in Excel and Microsoft Office.
- Outstanding internal customer-service focus.
- Flexibility for off-hours processing and occasional weekend deadlines.
