Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Nursing Supervisor to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong clinical background and leadership skills, ensuring high-quality patient care while overseeing nursing staff. This role requires expertise in various medical fields, including critical care, geriatrics, and acute pain management, as well as familiarity with electronic medical records systems such as Epic and Cerner.
Duties
- Supervise nursing staff to ensure compliance with healthcare standards and protocols.
- Conduct patient assessments and develop care plans tailored to individual needs.
- Oversee medication administration and ensure accurate medical documentation.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to enhance patient outcomes in settings such as long-term care, assisted living, and hospice.
- Provide training and support to nursing staff on best practices in patient care, including IV infusion, suturing, and emergency medicine.
- Manage staffing schedules and assist with recruitment efforts for nursing personnel.
- Ensure adherence to NCQA standards and HIPAA regulations within the facility.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives aimed at enhancing patient safety and care efficiency.
Requirements
- Valid nursing license with relevant clinical experience in acute care settings.
- Proficiency in using EMR/EHR systems such as Epic or Cerner.
- Experience in critical care, cardiac catheterization, or trauma medicine is highly desirable.
- Familiarity with ICD-9/ICD-10 coding and medical terminology.
- Knowledge of infection control practices and aseptic techniques.
- Strong leadership abilities with experience in case management or discharge planning.
- Excellent communication skills for effective collaboration with patients, families, and healthcare teams.
- Experience working with diverse populations including individuals with developmental disabilities or those requiring memory care. Preferred qualifications may include:
- Background in pediatrics or geriatrics.
- Experience in outpatient settings or home health care.
