JOB SUMMARY
Turning Point Inc. of Paterson is recruiting for a highly motivated and detail-oriented Medical Biller to join our dynamic healthcare team. In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring accurate and timely submission of claims, and maintaining precise medical records. Provides data entry and billing support for the weekly and monthly DMHAS, SAI and Medicaid billing of behavioral health claims, denials, authorizations and insurance coverage.
Key Responsibilities
1. Performs behavioral health billing in support of the billing department:
a. Pulling, reviewing and transmitting Medicaid and DHMAS client services from electronic
health record into billing software (CMD) and reviewing and submitting their claims
b. Conducting weekly billing into the State’s proprietary billing software
2. Supports the overall authorization management process with Lead Biller to ensure all claims have authorizations.
3. Receives, organizes, scans and uploads all relevant components to charts requiring manual entry into the system
4. Provides outbound medical records copies as needed and as requested.
5. Submit SAI Attendance, Weekly and supports Billing Department with other Tasks as needed.
6. Other duties as may be assigned.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Associates Degree
Medical Billing experience ideally behavioral health
Working Knowledge of New Jersey Medicaid and eMevs System Strong Microsoft Excel experience, specifically pivot tables.
Working knowledge of SAI and Commercial Insurances, Medical Terminology
Proven experience with medical billing processes within EMR/EHR systems.
Excellent understanding of medical records management and documentation
Familiarity with insurance verification procedures and payer policies.
Ability to interpret medical data accurately and communicate effectively with healthcare providers and insurance companies.
Detail-oriented with exceptional organizational skills to handle multiple tasks simultaneously while maintaining accuracy.
Excellent communication skills, written and oral and ability to work as a team.
