We are seeking a proactive and skilled Building Maintenance Technician to join our team. In this vital role, you will be responsible for maintaining the safety, functionality, and appearance of our facility’s interior and exterior spaces. Your expertise will ensure that all building systems operate smoothly, creating a safe and welcoming environment for staff and clients alike.
Responsibilities
- Perform routine inspections and preventative maintenance on electrical systems, plumbing, HVAC units, and facilities equipment to ensure optimal operation.
- Repair electrical equipment, plumbing systems, HVAC components, and mechanical devices using hand tools, schematics, and technical manuals.
- Conduct carpentry, painting, and other building interior maintenance tasks to uphold facility standards.
- Troubleshoot issues with programmable logic controllers (PLCs), electrical circuits, and schematics to identify root causes efficiently.
- Maintain detailed records of maintenance activities, repairs, and inspections for compliance and future planning.
- Respond promptly to maintenance requests from staff or management to minimize downtime or disruptions.
Skills
- Strong mechanical knowledge with experience in facilities maintenance including HVAC system repair, plumbing system maintenance, electrical work, and carpentry.
- Proficiency with hand tools, schematics, Ohmmeters (electrical testing devices), and other diagnostic equipment.
- Experience with electrical equipment repair and troubleshooting programmable logic controllers (PLCs).
- Knowledge of maintenance painting techniques suitable for residential or commercial environments.
- Ability to read technical diagrams such as schematics for electrical or mechanical systems.
- Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate clearly in English.
- Supervising experience demonstrating leadership qualities in a maintenance setting.
- Familiarity with maintenance, repair & operations (MRO) procedures within a facilities environment.
