RESIDENTIAL COORDINATOR , TWO FULL-TIME POSITIONS

Summary
Turning Point Advocacy Services is a nonprofit responding to domestic violence, sexual abuse, trafficking, and by providing shelter-based and community-based services to survivors and their children. The agency is located in a confidential location in Warren County and the main service area is Franklin, Gasconade, Lincoln, Montgomery, St. Louis, St. Charles, and Warren Counties.

Under the direction and supervision of the Shelter Manager, the role of the Residential Coordinators is to provide for the immediate safety, shelter, food and clothing needs for clients in Shelter. Residential Coordinators provide 24/7/365 shelter coverage and hotline response in various shifts. The guiding principles of this position are defined within the framework of woman-defined advocacy and respect for the individual woman’s needs and goals.

Responsibilities

• Assist in maintaining the safety and security of the shelter and surrounding grounds.
• Provide access to food and other basic necessities for clients in shelter.
• Provide emergency safety planning for residents and for hotline callers.
• Meet individually with the women and children as required or requested.
• Answer the hotline, complete hotline form, provided appropriate referrals.
• Dispatch the on-call person as necessary.
• Understand and be able to utilize all agency policies and procedures to maintain consistent and appropriate services to clients.
• Ensure cleanliness of shelter and immediate grounds.
• Maintain, and help to maintain, confidential all client information, agency policies, and other information as needed and necessary
• Provide assistance with intake and exit process for all shelter residents
• Provide assistance as requested by the Shelter Manager.

General Duties

• Maintains case files, progress notes, hotline logs, action plans. and follow-up plans
• Provide statistical information as required
• Protects client/survivor and staff and shelter location confidentiality as per MO Revised Statute 455.220
  
  • Perform other duties as required and requested

Qualifications:

• A minimum of a high school diploma, and at least one year of experience working with survivors of domestic and/or sexual violence, preferably within the emergency domestic violence shelter system
• Sensitivity to the dynamics of domestic and sexual violence
• Understanding of woman-defined advocacy
• Ability to work with people of diverse characteristics including, but not limited to, a variety of ethnic, racial, religious and socio-economic backgrounds and nontraditional sexual orientations and gender identities
• The capacity to remain calm and patient under stressful conditions
• A valid and current Missouri Driver’s License and insurance. Ability to secure a CDL license.
• Strong interpersonal skills
• Ability to pass a criminal background check and child abuse and neglect check
• Adept at Microsoft Office products with competent computer skills.
• Exhibit strong follow through on tasks and goals. Good organizational skills
• Ability to work evenings, holidays, and weekends per schedule. Willingness to work shifts/hours outside of regularly scheduled shifts when possible.
