Role Description The Ballot Chaser is a contract, remote role focused on encouraging eligible voters to request, complete, and return their ballots in a timely and compliant manner. Day-to-day tasks include contacting voters through phone calls, text messages, and digital outreach tools, as well as following up with individuals who have requested but not yet returned their ballots. The Ballot Chaser will maintain accurate records of outreach activities, track ballot status data, and report progress to supervisors. The role involves collaborating with local volunteers and Precinct Chairs, adhering to all relevant election laws and organizational guidelines, and communicating clearly and professionally with voters. This position requires flexibility in working hours, especially during peak election periods, and comfort working independently in a remote environment.
Qualifications
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, including the ability to engage voters via phone, text, and online platforms.
- Organizational and time-management skills to handle high-volume outreach, track interactions, and meet daily and weekly goals.
- Comfort with basic technology and data entry, including using CRM tools, spreadsheets, or voter contact systems.
- Understanding of, or willingness to learn, relevant election rules and best practices for ballot handling and voter outreach.
- Ability to work independently in a remote setting, demonstrate reliability, and maintain confidentiality of voter information.
- Experience in grassroots organizing, political campaigns, canvassing, or customer service is beneficial.
