We are seeking a highly motivated Senior Staff Accountant to join our growing finance team. This position is ideal for a CPA with 3–5 years of accounting experience who wants to move beyond routine accounting and become an integral part of a fast-growing real estate construction and development organization.
The successful candidate will work directly with executive leadership and assist with financial reporting, month-end close, construction accounting, and continuous process improvement across multiple affiliated companies.
Responsibilities· Prepare accurate monthly financial statements for multiple entities.
· Perform month-end and year-end close activities, including journal entries, account reconciliations, and financial analysis.
· Assist with construction accounting, including job cost reporting, WIP schedules, retainage accounting, and construction draw support.
· Reconcile bank accounts, credit cards, loans, and balance sheet accounts.
· Maintain fixed asset schedules and depreciation records.
· Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow reporting.
· Prepare schedules and supporting documentation for external CPA firms and annual audits.
· Assist with sales and use tax filings and other compliance reporting.
· Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes and internal controls.
· Support special projects involving acquisitions, financing, and system implementations.
Preferred Qualifications· Active CPA license (or CPA exam passed and pursuing licensure).
· Bachelor’s degree in Accounting.
· 3–5 years of accounting experience.
· Experience in one or more of the following:
o Construction accounting
o Real estate development
o Public accounting (audit preferred)
· Strong understanding of GAAP.
· Experience preparing complete monthly financial statements.
· Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
· Experience with QuickBooks (QBO / IES).
· Strong analytical and organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail.
