What are the responsibilities and job description for the Juvenile Detention Youth Care Worker position at Turnaround?
This position requires supervision of juveniles in a correctional setting. This supervisory role has accountability for youth who are in court-ordered juvenile detention. It is primarily a desk position. There is no education requirement, a minimum age of 21 is required, and drug and background screens must be passed. The person in this position must agree to all training requirements and policies.
Positions are available in Jasper, at the Walker County Courthouse, and in Cullman. The work is 24/7 and this is considered a part-time position that works 8-hour shifts on several weekdays. Plus, each employee will work one 12-hour shift every other weekend. Duties included securing the youth, allowing them out for showers, tending to meals, reporting all activities, etc. The pay rate is $12-$14 /hour.
