This caregiving position earns a competitive wage of $16.50/hour. We provide resources to more than 850 individuals with developmental disabilities. A DAY IN THE LIFE OF AN ART CENTER DIRECT SUPPORT PROFESSIONAL
As an Art Center Direct Support Professional, you support people with developmental disabilities to live their best lives as independently as possible. Your support is needed in many areas, with a focus on teaching our clients to experience all types of art forms like dance, music, singing, theatre, painting, sculpting, etc. You also assist with behavior management and daily living activities.
Using effective teaching and mentoring techniques, you provide support for our clients with their day-to-day schedules. You are always careful to model appropriate social skills and behaviors. Conscientiously, you keep accurate and up-to-date documentation as well as promptly report any concerns about health or safety. You find it very rewarding to help these wonderful individuals, which is why you're perfect for this caregiving position with our human services organization!
QUALIFICATIONS FOR AN ART CENTER DIRECT SUPPORT PROFESSIONAL
- 18 years or older
- Experience in any field of art
- A heart for serving people with developmental disabilities
- Driver's license Required
- Must be able to drive large vehicle to transport individuals for community engagement and to/from home.
