Position Summary/Objectives
With general supervision, Inspectors are responsible for ensuring that products and services meet the quality standards as established by the applicable technical data and customer instructions.
Essential Functions
- Performs Visual Inspection of Components and Assemblies
- Performs Dimensional Inspection using surface plates and traditional layout tooling
- Performs Dimensional Inspection using manual CMM
- Performs Dimensional Inspection using DCC CMM
- Performs Dimensional Inspection using Optical Comparator
- Performs Final Inspection & Documentation Review of (Components)
- Performs Final Inspection & Documentation Review of (Assemblies)
- Effectively uses drawings, OEM manuals, and company technical instructions
- Issues 8130-3’s (EASA / CAA UK Dual Release), & AAC-038’s
- Issues Certificates of Conformance (C of Cs)
- Working knowledge of applicable Repair Station Regulations (Parts 43, 65 & 145)
- Performs Receiving Inspection of Components, Raw Materials & Shelf Life Materials
- Performs In-Process Inspection (Checkpoints, buyoffs and verifications by test or inspection)
- Follows company policies and procedures
- Initiates Nonconforming Material Reports (NCRs/NMRs)
- Performs Preliminary Inspections
- Reviews customer flow down requirements POs/ROs/WOs etc. and assigns shop routing(s)
- Completes assigned trainings
- Performs Source Inspections where authorized
- Participates in Process Improvement and / or Lean Events
- Completes Preventative Maintenance Tasks (PMs) of Equipment
- Completes Process Controls & Records
- Updates Logs and Records as applicable
- Completes Maintenance and Manufacturing Records
- Assists with the processing of nonconforming materials including scrap
- Assists with 5S activities including general shop cleanup
- Assists with filing and general administrative functions
- Communicates effectively on both technical and non-technical matters
- Assists with other tasks as assigned by Quality Management
Supervisory Responsibilities
- This position has no supervisory responsibilities.
Work Environment
- The employee will occasionally work within close quarters.
Physical Demands
During the job the employee is required to:
- Bend, Squat, Kneel, Climb, or Balance.
- Reach with hands and arms and use fine fingers.
- Sit, Stand, Walk, Push, Pull, See, Talk, Hear, and Handle Objects.

Requirements
Preferred Education and Experience:
5 years’ experience in the inspection of aircraft components
Proper use of micrometers, calipers, dial indicators, optical comparators, CMM’s, and other basic inspection tools
Must be able to read, comprehend, and interpret drawings, OEM manuals and company technical instructions
Prior experience issuing 8130-3’s
A&P Mechanic, or prior holder of Repairman Certificate
Prior experience performing internal audits
Prior experience working in a FAA Repair Station
