What are the responsibilities and job description for the Braze Operator - 1st shift (6am-230pm) position at TurbineAero Engines Technics?
Description
The Braze Operator will apply braze and pre-form to components as part of the repair process.
- Read and interpret mechanical drawings and router instructions
- Clean and prepare parts for braze using chemical degreaser, acetone, and grit and nickel blast machines
- Mix braze according to specifications
- Apply braze, stop-off, and pre-form to components as specified in work instructions using a variety of hand tools including hand and air operated syringes
- Apply honeycomb using appropriate fixtures, braze tape, honeycomb roller, and resistance tack machine
- Trim and fit stop-off and pre-form
- Work with hand finishers and airflow operators to determine if adjustments should be made to braze paste
- Maintain proper inventory levels of consumable items
- Assist in managing and maintaining shelf-life materials
- Observe safety guidelines and wear and maintain personal protective equipment (PPE) when necessary.
- Other duties may be assigned.
Requirements
Required Education and Experience:
- High school diploma or GED.
- Minimum of 2 years factory-related experience.
- Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings and work instructions
- Ability to sit for extended periods of time
- Basic measuring skills including use of scales, dial calipers and indicators
- Familiarity with hand tools
