Job Summary: The Human Resources Representative is on a team of 3 supporting the administration of various HR plans and procedures for all plant personnel. Assists with handling personnel matters as it relates to recruiting, onboarding, benefits/insurance, record keeping and other employee matters.
Position Requirements
- Bilingual English/Spanish skills
- Three to Five Years of Experience in a Human Resource Department or equivalent office experience.
- A working knowledge of HR related topics such as COBRA, FMLA, EEOC and other related laws.
- Strong, proven ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment with high attention to detail.
- High School Graduate or equivalency.
Position Responsibilities / Objectives
- Support operations in the hiring process as it relates to conducting orientations. Review applications and conduct screens/interviews as needed.
- Coordinate new hire onboarding – procures employee badges, uniforms, bump caps with proper name labels and sets up personal and uniform lockers.
- Ensure all new hire paperwork is completed accurately (I9, W4s, Insurance enrollment forms, etc) and submitted timely to Corporate HR and Benefits carriers.
- Process terminations ensuring all checklist items are completed and Corporate HR and Benefits carriers are notified timely.
- Maintain all employee information timely and accurately in HRIS
- Maintain all employee personnel files in an organized manner.
- Assist employees with questions and concerns related to general policy/documentation inquiries, time off (paid leave and vacation), benefits, and employee relations, escalating to management as appropriate
- Translate documents as needed.
- Preserve the privacy and confidentiality of our employees.
- Conduct oneself in a professional manner when dealing with employees, co-workers, management and visitors.
- Assist with lowering turnover by keeping a fact based pulse on employee morale and report back to management
- Assist in coordinating, maintaining and supporting the location as it relates to company functions such as Appreciation and Holiday Luncheons.
- Effective oral and written communication skills.
