Description
Please note that this posting is for a contract assignment and is not a full-time employment opportunity with Amazon. Candidates selected for roles will be employed as contract workers through Amazon’s approved 3rd party Direct Source provider for the duration of the specified project and will not be an employee of Amazon.
SOURCER / RECRUITER I — AWS Infrastructure Services
Overview:
AWS is looking for a Sourcer / Recruiter I to join the recruiting team behind AWS Infrastructure Services — the organization responsible for the data centers, cloud computing, and engineering talent that keeps AWS running globally. This is a high-volume, top-of-funnel role. Your day is built around pipeline: identifying, engaging, and screening technical talent to feed requisitions distributed across multiple hiring managers. You won't be owning offers or closing candidates; you'll be the engine that keeps the funnel moving.
The need is real and immediate: a 30% increase in hiring demand across the AIS business has created 36 openings, and the team needs sourcers who can hit the ground running.
Responsibilities
- Own top-of-funnel sourcing for technical roles including data center, cloud, network, and SDE-level positions supporting AWS infrastructure at scale
- Build and execute sourcing plans by intaking directly with lead recruiters and hiring managers to understand requirements, then working backwards to find the right talent
- Drive high-volume candidate outreach daily via email and virtual channels; at least a third of your time will be live conversations with candidates
- Hit weekly KPIs: 36 phone screens scheduled per week, 5–7 in-person or virtual interviews coordinated
- Cold call and engage passive candidates; this is a proactive sourcing role, not an inbound queue
- Navigate two customers simultaneously: the hiring manager who owns the req, and the candidate you're building a relationship with
Must-Haves:
- 1–2 years technical recruiting experience in a high volume environment
- Boolean search proficiency
Nice-to-Haves:
- Degree: AA / BA
- Former Amazon experience (needs 1 year experience if applicable)
- If no technical recruiting background, needs 5 years experience
Leadership Principles:
This team focuses on hiring and developing the best. Day-to-day this means:
- Learn and Be Curious — team members are called builders. You're expected to come in as an active participant, ask questions, and develop your craft continuously.
- Ownership — take your reqs and drive them forward.
- Bias for Action — speed matters in a 30% demand surge. Act decisively and move the pipeline.
- Deliver Results — KPIs are real and tracked. The team holds itself to clear performance standards and to achieve organizational goals.
Team Culture:
This is a recruiting team that operates like a business. You'll intake directly with hiring managers, build sourcing plans, and own your pipeline from outreach through screen. The work is fast-moving and conversation-heavy: expect regular dialogue with candidates, lead recruiters, and HMs to stay aligned on needs and progress.
The team shares learnings openly and expects everyone to contribute to that. You're not just filling seats on a desk; you're helping build the workforce behind one of the most complex infrastructure organizations in tech. The environment is engaging and collaborative, with a shared mindset to drive results.
Logistics:
- Start Date: ASAP
- Duration: 12 months
- Schedule: 40 hrs/week, M–F core hours
- Location: Seattle, WA
