This company is seeking a Civil Project Manager to lead all civil scopes on utility-scale solar projects. This role serves as the primary business and execution leader for civil work, managing projects from estimate through closeout while ensuring alignment with budget, schedule, safety, and quality expectations.
The Civil Project Manager partners closely with estimating, field operations, and mechanical and electrical project teams to ensure seamless cross-trade coordination. This role carries full financial ownership of civil scopes, oversight of subcontractor performance, and responsibility for mentoring project engineers and assistant project managers to drive consistent project delivery across regions. This is a hands-on leadership role within an estimator-doer model, requiring strong civil construction expertise, financial acumen, and the ability to operate effectively across multiple job sites.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead planning, execution, and closeout of all civil scopes on utility-scale solar projects
- Partner with estimating on scope reviews, bid packages, and budget development
- Provide early and late-stage design coordination and constructability reviews
- Lead value engineering efforts and manage design-driven quantity changes
- Support subcontractor buyout, contract negotiation, and capacity evaluation
- Manage civil budgets from estimate through closeout, including forecasting and variance tracking
- Analyze subcontractor financial health and project cost projections
- Coordinate civil schedules to align with overall project milestones
- Support field operations by monitoring subcontractor compliance, quality, and safety
- Manage civil change orders and cost impacts; support loss control efforts
- Lead civil closeout activities including as-builts, punch lists, warranties, and demobilization
- Mentor Assistant PMs and Project Engineers and promote cross-regional consistency
- Contribute to process improvement, SWI development, and standardization initiatives
- Participate in recruiting, industry engagement, and company-sponsored initiatives
Must-Haves (Non-Negotiables)
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related discipline
- Minimum 5 years of total experience as a Civil Project Manager or equivalent role
- Strong civil construction background, preferably within utility-scale solar, renewable energy, or heavy civil projects
- Hands-on experience with grading, drainage, stormwater management, SWPPP, erosion control, and site access roads
- Proven experience managing civil budgets, subcontractors, schedules, and change orders
- Ability to operate in an estimator-doer model
- Strong financial and contractual management skills
- Willingness and ability to travel approximately 30 percent
- Must be based in Fort Lauderdale, FL

Salary : $90,000 - $130,000
