Job Overview
We are seeking a Senior Project Manager to support strategic initiatives within Alto, BMO’s online-only digital banking platform under Personal & Business Banking (P&BB). This individual will lead complex, cross-functional digital banking projects in an Agile delivery environment, partnering closely with business stakeholders, product teams, technology teams, and enterprise PMO functions to drive successful execution.
The ideal candidate will have experience leading digital banking or customer-facing technology initiatives within the financial services industry. This role requires strong Agile project delivery expertise, stakeholder management, financial management experience, and the ability to manage multiple concurrent workstreams in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead end-to-end delivery of multiple Agile projects supporting Alto digital banking initiatives.
- Manage project execution across cross-functional teams including Product, Technology, Operations, Risk, Compliance, and Business stakeholders.
- Facilitate Agile ceremonies including sprint planning, stand-ups, retrospectives, backlog refinement, and release planning.
- Develop and maintain project roadmaps, delivery timelines, RAID logs, status reporting, and executive communications.
- Partner with Product Owners and business stakeholders to define scope, prioritize workstreams, and manage delivery expectations.
- Own project financials including budget tracking, forecasting, resource allocations, accruals, and financial reporting within Clarity.
- Manage project budgets and ensure alignment between financial forecasts and project delivery timelines.
- Track project dependencies, risks, issues, and blockers while driving mitigation strategies proactively.
- Coordinate delivery across multiple teams to ensure alignment with business objectives and release schedules.
- Support governance activities and ensure adherence to enterprise PMO standards and Agile delivery practices.
- Monitor project health, team velocity, resource planning, and delivery metrics.
- Drive stakeholder communication and executive reporting across all levels of the organization.
- Support implementation planning, operational readiness, and post-launch stabilization activities.
Required Qualifications
- 7 years of Project Management experience within large enterprise environments.
- Strong experience delivering projects in Agile environments.
- Experience within financial services, banking, fintech, or digital banking organizations.
- Proven ability to manage multiple concurrent projects and cross-functional Agile teams.
- Hands-on experience owning and managing project budgets within Clarity is required.
- Strong understanding of project financial management, forecasting, and resource planning.
- Hands-on experience facilitating Agile ceremonies and working closely with Product Owners and Scrum teams.
- Experience using Jira, Confluence, MS Project, Clarity, or similar project management tools.
- Strong stakeholder management, communication, and executive presentation skills.
- Experience delivering customer-facing digital products or online banking initiatives.
- Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving capabilities.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience supporting digital banking platforms, online banking products, or mobile banking initiatives.
- Familiarity with Personal & Business Banking (P&BB) environments.
- Scrum Master certification (CSM, SAFe, or equivalent) preferred.
- PMP certification considered an asset.
- Experience working within enterprise PMO frameworks in hybrid Agile organizations.
- Exposure to regulatory, risk, and compliance requirements within banking environments.
Salary : $65 - $73
