The Role


Tundra is seeking a strategic and solutions-oriented HRBP, Workforce Relations to support one of our key client engagements. This role will serve as a trusted advisor to our internal engagement teams and client stakeholders, ensuring effective management of contingent workforce employee relations, compliance, and workforce processes.


This position plays a critical role in managing escalations, navigating complex employee relations situations, strengthening workforce processes, and mitigating risk while maintaining a positive experience for our consultants and clients. The ideal candidate brings strong HR advisory capabilities, labor law knowledge, and experience supporting a contingent or project-based workforce within a fast-paced, client-facing environment.


Strategic HR Partnership

  • Serve as the primary HR partner to assigned engagement teams supporting contingent workforce populations.
  • Provide proactive guidance on employee relations (ER) matters, performance concerns, conduct issues, and workplace escalations.
  • Partner with client stakeholders and internal leadership to ensure consistent, compliant, and fair workforce practices.
  • Act as a thought partner to drive workforce optimization strategies that align with business goals.


Escalations & Employee Relations

  • Manage complex escalations and sensitive workforce situations from intake through resolution.
  • Conduct investigations, document findings, and provide risk-informed recommendations.
  • Advise leaders on performance management, corrective actions, and terminations in alignment with labor laws and company policies.
  • Mitigate risk through consistent application of policies and best practices.


Workforce Optimization & Process Improvement

  • Evaluate current workforce processes and identify opportunities for efficiency, scalability, and compliance improvement.
  • Build, refine, and document standardized procedures for managing contingent workforce lifecycle events.
  • Partner cross-functionally with Operations, Finance, Legal, and Compliance to streamline workflows.
  • Track trends in ER cases, escalations, and workforce data to proactively recommend improvements.


Labor Law & Compliance Partnership

  • Provide guidance on wage and hour considerations, classification matters, leave laws, and employment regulations.
  • Partner with legal counsel as needed on complex compliance or risk scenarios.
  • Ensure contingent workforce practices align with applicable federal, state, and local labor laws.
  • Support audit readiness and documentation standards.


Stakeholder Collaboration

  • Act as a bridge between Tundra, client stakeholders, and consultants to ensure clear communication and alignment.
  • Coach engagement teams on effective management practices and documentation.
  • Deliver training or enablement sessions on ER best practices, compliance topics, and workforce management standards.


Who You Are


  • You have a Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • You have 5 years of progressive HR experience, including experience in HR Business Partner and/or Employee Relations roles.
  • You have experience supporting contingent workforce populations or working within staffing, consulting, or project‑based environments (preferred).
  • You have strong knowledge of employment law, wage and hour regulations, and employee relations best practices.
  • You have demonstrated experience managing complex employee relations escalations and investigations.
  • You are able to influence and partner effectively with stakeholders in a matrixed, client‑facing environment.
  • You hold an SPHR or SHRM‑CP designation (highly preferred).


The salary range that the employer in good faith reasonably expects to pay for this position is $85,000 - $100,000.
