Job Overview
A leading financial institution is seeking a Project Manager / Scrum Master to support its Frontline Modernization program, a strategic initiative focused on modernizing technology across its retail branch network. This role will coordinate infrastructure and application readiness activities supporting branch technology upgrades, ensuring the successful delivery of network modernization initiatives with minimal disruption to branch operations.
The successful candidate will serve in a blended Project Manager / Scrum Master capacity, partnering with infrastructure engineering teams, network teams, business stakeholders, vendors, and more than 50 application owners. This individual will be responsible for driving execution, maintaining project governance, and ensuring all project work is tracked and managed effectively through Jira.
This role is ideal for a delivery-focused Project Manager who is comfortable leading enterprise infrastructure initiatives while working independently with minimal oversight.
Key Responsibilities
Project Planning & Delivery
- Lead project delivery for Frontline Modernization initiatives supporting retail branches.
- Develop and maintain project plans, timelines, milestones, RAID logs, and dependency tracking.
- Coordinate project execution across infrastructure, networking, branch technology, and application teams.
- Drive project governance while ensuring alignment with enterprise PMO standards.
Agile Delivery & Scrum Leadership
- Serve as both Project Manager and Scrum Master depending on project needs.
- Facilitate Agile ceremonies while applying traditional project management practices where appropriate.
- Maintain delivery plans and ensure teams remain focused on project milestones and implementation readiness.
Jira & Work Management
- Own Jira administration, including boards, epics, stories, tasks, dashboards, and reporting.
- Ensure all project work is documented, assigned, and actively managed within Jira.
- Drive accountability across more than 50 application owners and infrastructure teams.
- Monitor project progress and proactively follow up on outstanding deliverables.
Cross-Functional Coordination
- Coordinate activities across network engineering, infrastructure, branch technology, cybersecurity, operations, vendors, and application teams.
- Partner with third-party vendors supporting network connectivity, Wi-Fi, hardware deployments, and branch technology upgrades.
- Serve as the primary point of coordination for project execution and delivery activities.
Delivery Execution
- Translate strategic objectives into executable work plans with minimal direction.
- Drive projects forward independently while proactively identifying risks and removing blockers.
- Maintain focus on execution and measurable delivery outcomes rather than project administration alone.
Stakeholder Communication
- Prepare executive-level status reports highlighting project progress, risks, issues, and decisions.
- Communicate effectively with business leaders, technical teams, and branch stakeholders.
- Document decisions, action items, and ownership while ensuring timely follow-up.
Financial & Project Governance
- Own project financials, including budget management, forecasting, resource planning, accruals, and financial reporting within Clarity.
- Ensure project governance, documentation, and reporting meet enterprise PMO standards.
Required Qualifications
- 7 years of Project Management experience leading enterprise technology or infrastructure initiatives.
- Experience functioning in a blended Project Manager / Scrum Master role.
- Strong Agile delivery experience with the ability to manage projects using both Agile and Waterfall methodologies.
- Advanced Jira experience, including board administration, reporting, dashboards, workflow management, and project tracking.
- Proven ability to independently drive complex initiatives with minimal management oversight.
- Experience coordinating large cross-functional initiatives involving infrastructure teams and numerous application owners.
- Strong organizational skills with exceptional task management and follow-through.
- Experience owning project budgets, forecasting, resource planning, and financial management within Clarity.
- Excellent stakeholder management, communication, and executive reporting skills.
- Ability to effectively partner with technical infrastructure and networking teams.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience supporting branch technology modernization or retail banking infrastructure initiatives.
- Experience leading SD-WAN, WAN/LAN, network infrastructure, connectivity, or enterprise networking projects.
- Experience managing technology upgrades across distributed branch or retail locations.
- Banking or financial services experience.
- Experience coordinating enterprise infrastructure migrations or technology refresh initiatives.
- PMP certification preferred.
- Certified Scrum Master (CSM, PSM, or SAFe) preferred.
