Position Summary: The Carpentry Master Craftsperson performs advanced carpentry work requiring expert-level skill in design, construction, fabrication, and building systems. This position independently executes complex projects, designs and constructs custom items for district events and functions, and coordinates work across multiple maintenance shops.
This role requires extensive knowledge of woodworking, building design, construction methods, and material fabrication beyond what is expected of a Carpentry Craftsperson. The Master Craftsperson serves as a technical resource within the carpentry shop and may work with outside contractors and vendors on signage installation, specialized projects, and large-scale construction. This position represents the highest level of individual contributor expertise within the Carpentry skilled trades career track and does not include direct supervisory responsibility.

- Work Order Execution, Estimation, and Documentation
- Quality Assurance and Code Compliance
Minimum Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Completion of an accredited trade school program in carpentry, cabinetmaking, or related field preferred
- Minimum of five (5) years of experience in all phases of carpentry crafts including design, construction, and fabrication
- Experience working in commercial, institutional, or educational facilities preferred
- Experience coordinating across multiple trades or with outside contractors preferred
- Valid Oklahoma driver’s license with no restrictions that would preclude driving on the job required
- OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification preferred
- Expert-level knowledge of carpentry methods, materials, tools, construction techniques, and building design
- Ability to read, interpret, and work from blueprints, schematics, and architectural drawings
- Advanced proficiency with hand and power tools, shop equipment, and fabrication machinery
- Ability to design and construct custom items including structures, fixtures, displays, and event installations
- Knowledge of applicable building codes, safety standards, and district maintenance procedures
- Ability to accurately estimate labor, materials, and project timelines for complex assignments
- Strong organizational, planning, and time management skills
- Ability to coordinate work across multiple maintenance shops and with outside contractors and vendors
- Strong communication skills including the ability to work with school administrators, district leadership, and external partners
- Proficiency with CMMS software and basic computer applications including Microsoft Office
