What are the responsibilities and job description for the ASL Interpreter I-V position at Tulsa Community College?
- Job Summary
This position provides sign language interpreting, captioning or tutoring for the deaf and hard of hearing on a part-time, as needed basis. Interpreters and captionists will provide services for students and staff in a variety of settings and times including evenings and weekends on all campuses.
- Minimum Qualifications
Sign Language Interpreter: QAST Certification level I or equivalent with commitment to pursue higher level.
Tutors: demonstrated knowledge base in subject area.
Captionists: skills in CPrint or other real time captioning system.
Interpreters: Completion of a sign language interpreter preparation program.
Associate's degree or higher, QAST III equivalent or above.
