Teen Library Associate
The Hardesty Regional Library is seeking a dynamic, forward-thinking Teen Library Associate to join our team. In this role, you won't just work behind a desk—you will champion teen success by managing the Digital Lounge (our dedicated teen space), driving innovative programming, and playing an active role on the cutting-edge Hardesty 3D Printing Team. The Hardesty Regional Library is a 50,000-square-foot, 2-story building located in the heart of South Tulsa, just minutes away from Woodland Hills Mall, plus four local school districts (Union, Jenks, Bixby, and Broken Arrow). Hardesty Regional Library is also the home of Connor's Cove Children's Theater, which features a nautical theme, seats 420, and hosts a variety of family-friendly programming, including musical groups, puppet and magic shows, and author visits.
Some Essential Functions Include:
- Presents programs for youth in anticipation of or response to customer interest or needs;
- Maintains and operates AV equipment, computers, office machines, and other library hardware and software;
- Conducts community outreach, which may include services to schools, day care facilities, and community organizations;
- Prepares displays to augment youth services and to promote the collection and programs;
- Helps develop and maintain the tweens and teens collection at this library;
- May serve as Person in Charge of the location as needed; directing tasks of Customer Service Assistants, Shelvers and volunteers.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Education and Experience:
- Bachelors’ degree required.
- No previous experience required; library, retail, or customer service experience preferred.

Physical and Environmental Conditions:
The job occasionally requires stooping or bending. Occasional light lifting, such as three or four reams of paper, four for five books, or other materials (up to 20 pounds) may be required.
There are occasional minor discomforts from exposure to less than optimal temperature and air conditions. The job may involve dealing with modestly unpleasant situations, such as occasional exposure to office chemicals and/or extensive use of video display terminals.
