Certified Medication Aide (CMA) 7A-7P

Job Summary

We are seeking a reliable and compassionate Certified Medication Aide (CMA) to join our team at Tulsa Center for Rehabilitation & Healthcare in Chandler, OK. As a Certified Medication Aide, you will play a vital role in ensuring the health and well-being of our residents by administering daily medications under the supervision of licensed nursing staff. Responsibilities

• Deliver routine daily oral, inhalation, and topical medications to residents under direct supervision of licensed nursing staff

• Observe for any adverse drug reactions and report any problems to the nurse

• Record medication administration according to company policies and procedures

• Perform tasks associated with medication administration, including vital signs, medication dose calculations, stocking of medication carts, and removal of discontinued medications

• Practice safe handling and storage of medications

• Respond to resident requests and other direct care duties as assigned

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent

• Must be a certified nursing assistant (CNA)

• Must have medication aide certification

• Minimum of 1 year of healthcare industry experience or 2 years' experience as a medication aide

• Good understanding of medical and pharmacological terminology

• Current CPR certification

• Ability to read, write, speak, and understand the English language

• Ability to make independent decisions when circumstances warrant such action

• Ability to deal tactfully with personnel, residents, family members, visitors, government agencies/personnel, and the general public

Working Conditions

• May be subject to falls, burns from equipment, and/or odors throughout the day

• Encounter reactions from dust, tobacco smoke, disinfectants, and other air contaminants

• May be subject to hostile or emotional residents, family members, visitors, or personnel

• Must be able to move intermittently throughout the workday

• Must be able to assist in evacuation of residents during emergency situations
