Tulsa Bone and Joint Associates is seeking a Full-time Orthopedic Service Line Physician Assistant to work in a hospital setting, assisting multiple orthopedic surgeons.
Essential Functions
· Assist in the operating room, assess patients, write orders, conduct rounds, educate and teach, perform consultations, and manage discharge processes for orthopedic patients.
· Collaborate closely with hospitalists and hospital staff to maintain orthopedic clinical pathways and protocols.
· Identify educational needs among hospital staff and assist in their development, training, and in-service sessions. Help develop protocols to improve efficiency throughout the hospital and possess a solid understanding of CPOE (Computerized Physician Order Entry).
· Assist with chart audits and clinical documentation.
· Serve as a point of contact for follow-up on general patient care concerns (both during and after discharge), address staff concerns related to processes, and review workflows to recommend best practice standards.
· Assist in surgery and work within the hospital setting and Urgent Care.
Schedule
· Monday - Friday: 6:45 AM - 5:00 PM (times may vary)
· Call/rounding up to one weekend per month
· Orthopedic Urgent Care coverage is required
· Coverage for other hospital health systems may be necessary to support the service line, in addition to Orthopedic Urgent Care coverage
Requirements
· Master’s degree in Physician Assistant Studies (PA)
· Current and unrestricted PA license in Oklahoma
· Experience in an Urgent Care setting or in Orthopedics is preferred but not required
· Interest or experience in Orthopedic Surgery is preferred but not required
· Proficiency with electronic health record (EHR) systems
