What are the responsibilities and job description for the Fitness Desk Associate\Float Position position at Tulare Local Healthcare District?
Position Summary
To provide professional fitness service to members and clients of the center to appropriately meet the health and fitness needs of each individual. This is for a float position to help cover open shifts, with the possibility of moving into a regularly scheduled shift if desired. Flexible availability desired for day shift/mid shift/night shift
Essential Functions
· Complete knowledge of fitness equipment and proper form for each piece of equipment on the fitness floor.
· Conduct member weight room orientations to assist members with exercise programs.
· Proactively work with members to answer questions and concerns or suggest new exercises and/or programs.
· Learn the names of all members and talk briefly with each member on each member visit.
· Maintain a safe and clean fitness floor.
· Provide oversight on fitness floor to ensure compliance with all center policies.
· Complete quality checks on all fitness equipment at each shift.
· Daily cleaning of the fitness equipment to ensure center cleanliness standards.
· Assist in promoting and participating in all Gym member activities.
· Participate in departmental and staff meetings as scheduled.
· Demonstrate complete knowledge of emergency and safety procedures.
· Maintain knowledge of the facility, staff, services, fees and hours of operation.
· Conduct facility tours as needed.
· Positively promote and contribute to the growth of the overall training programs through consistent, goal - directed contact of members and potential referral sources.
· Participate in member promotion and membership sales events.
· Maintain a positive and professional demeanor during interactions and in on-going work related relationships with all persons at the Gym.
· Additional duties may be assigned.
Qualifications
· High School Diploma or equivalent.
· Degree in Health or Fitness related filed, preferred.
· Two years fitness experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
· CPR/AED Certified (to be obtained within 30 days of hire and kept in good standing thereafter).
· Excellent customer service skills.
· Must work well with all levels of persons and personalities.
Physical Requirements & Work Environment
As a fitness professional, being physically fit and having the ability to move one’s body in a variety of ways with and without weigh is an essential function of this role. Physical requirements may vary based on duties assigned to employee, at minimum employee must meet the following physical requirements:
