JOB DESCRIPTION
Undergraduate Research Assistant
Hourly Pay Rate: $19.05
The Research Aide 1 will support the department/organization in various administrative and research tasks. This position deals directly with research (in or outside a laboratory).
Responsibilities
- This undergraduate research assistant position is for up to 10 hours per week during the Summer and Fall semesters to collect field data and to maintain databases to be shared with researchers and community partners. This will include deploying 35 iButton data loggers to record ambient temperature and relative humidity in designated urban heat island neighborhood locations around New Orleans. Student will field test iButtons to determine ideal parameters for deployment and establish an interface to efficiently and consistently retrieve data. In addition, the student may also synthesize data archived on WeatherSTEM to build a useable database and visualize data collected.
- Local travel to field locations is necessary, transportation is not provided. Previous field experience not required.
