Job Description
Serves as a key member of the Tulane University Innovation Institute (TUII), playing a central role in designing, executing, and continuously improving programs that advance innovation, entrepreneurship, and commercialization across Tulane University and the broader New Orleans ecosystem. TUII operates as a catalyst for translating research, ideas, and talent into real-world impact supporting the creation of startups, industry partnerships, and scalable solutions in sectors such as health, energy, and technology. The position reports to the Executive Director of Innovation & Entrepreneurship Programs. This position manages a defined portfolio of high-impact programs including educational bootcamps, the Young Entrepreneurs’ Academy (YEA!), and innovation-focused events while also serving as a cross-functional team contributor who supports the full lifecycle of TUII programming. Beyond direct program ownership, the Program Manager collaborates across all Institute initiatives (e.g., mentorship networks, innovation challenges, curricular partnerships, and flagship convenings such as Tulane Innovation Day/New Orleans Entrepreneurship Week) to ensure seamless execution, alignment with strategic priorities, and a consistent, high-quality participant experience.

Bachelor’s degree in related field required plus five years administrative or management experience. Additional education may be substituted for the required experience on a year-for-year basis.

- Serve as a program owner and integrator, ensuring that individual programs contribute to TUII’s end-to-end commercialization and talent development goals
- Act as a connector across faculty, students, entrepreneurs, alumni, and community and industry partners, helping to build and sustain a vibrant innovation community
- Support the operational backbone of TUII, including program logistics, financial tracking, data management, and reporting
- Contribute to program storytelling, outreach, and visibility, reinforcing TUII’s role as Tulane’s “front door” for innovation and entrepreneurship

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES/COMPETENCIES TYPICALLY NEEDED TO PERFORM THIS JOB SUCCESSFULLY:
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and analytical skills
- Event Planning and Project Management: Attention to detail and the ability to manage and track multiple projects. Ability to plan and execute complex, multi-stakeholder events with a range of expected attendee numbers.
- Ability to develop and track work plans and deliverables.
- Demonstrated experience with financial management, budget creation, financial reporting, and follow-up.
- Working knowledge of online collaboration tools, Project Management applications/platforms, Microsoft Office software (Word, Excel, Outlook, Power Point, etc.), Internet and email required.
- Working knowledge of marketing, promotion, and storytelling for programming.
- Master’s or other advanced degree.
- Knowledgeable about technology development, startup validation, formation and scale processes.
- Grants / Budget Fiscal Management.
- Administrative Management.
