The Assistant Director is integral to a team that provides programming, support, and communication to encourage the success of all students at Tulane University. This position supports the first-year experience team in the planning and execution of orientation initiatives designed to promote the success of all first-year students, to root them in the academic campus culture, and to improve student persistence. This position oversees the transition of students to campus through the execution of summer communications and programs. This position supervises staff over the student transition to the university.

Required Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities
- Working knowledge of standard applications (Word, Excel, Access).
- Ability to manage projects and plan successful events in line with an overall mission towards student success.
- Understanding of, and commitment to, assisting students in their transition to college.
- Knowledge of effective strategies for programmatic assessment.
- Ability to foster a collaborative environment across organizational lines with a variety of constituents.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills, including the ability to present information to a variety of audiences.
- Bachelor’s Degree with 3 years of directly related work experience.
- High School Diploma (or Equivalent) with 9 years of directly related work experience.
- Master’s Degree in Higher Education Administration, College Student Development, or a related field.
- Demonstrated experience with initiatives supporting the successful transition of traditional-aged first-year college students.
- Demonstrated commitment to building programs and services with diverse student groups in mind.
- Proven student-centered and customer-service oriented professionalism.
- Experience developing and implementing assessment and evaluation in achieving continuous programmatic improvements.
