Job Description
Professional fundraising position that will lead the Annual Fund initiatives that create a viable annual giving program for Tulane Law School. The position will develop and execute a high-end annual giving strategy aimed at increasing the Law Fund’s donors and dollars, including overseeing Give Green and the Law Firm Challenge. Develops new initiatives, identify donors at all levels, and recruit and manage volunteer leaders. This position will collaborate closely with the Tulane Fund and Advancement Communications staff to raise unrestricted funds through mail, email, phone and social media channels. The position will work closely with the Law School’s development officers and alumni relations staff and other departments within the Office of Advancement.
Responsibilities
Oversees the management of the law annual giving program. Creates, manages, and advances effective relationships towards the goal of maintaining existing Law Fund donors, encouraging new donors, increasing unrestricted giving, and building the Law Fellows program. Maintains a monthly level of personal appointments and travels nationwide to encourage participation by new donors and move existing donors to higher levels. Coordinates with the Tulane Fund Office on Law School specific calling center programs; preparation, and dissemination of annual giving solicitation letters and emails; and Law Fellows donor visits, solicitations and activities. Identifies and assesses potential major gift prospects and/or new reunion volunteer leaders. Coordinates the passing off of major gift prospects and leadership volunteers with the Law School’s major gifts staff. Develops new programs and oversee initiatives (Give Green, Law Firm Challenge) intended to maximize participation in the Law Annual Fund by alumni and non-alumni constituents. Provides detailed analysis on giving and donor trends throughout the year. Effectively communicates on the status of the annual fund throughout the year. Develops an annual plan and assesses periodically to make adjustments when needed.
Directs the stewardship of law school donors and volunteers by: organizing and executing the Law Annual Fund’s gift acknowledgment system including letters, donor honor roll, and tracking in coordination with central development; coordinating with the office of Stewardship and Donor Relations to implement best practices; assisting the Law major gifts staff with stewardship and involvement of major gift donors. Prepares annual giving materials for and participate in Dean’s Advisory Board meetings or other occasions where a Law Annual Fund update is needed or requested.

Qualifications
REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- Bachelor’s degree and 3 years direct fundraising experience in the solicitation and closing of gifts, or transferrable experience. Transferrable experience includes marketing, admissions, public relations, alumni relations, trust officer, or sales.
- High school diploma or equivalent, and 9 years’ direct experience.
- Any appropriate combination of relevant experience, education, and/or certifications may be considered.
- Excellent oral, written, and interpersonal skills.
- Excellent organizational skills required including the ability to manage multiple demands and multiple projects.
- Ability to travel and attend events on weekends and evenings.
- Ability to work independently and within a team structure.
- Ability and commitment to serve as a positive, contributing member of the Development team.
- Knowledge of various software programs, such as MS Word and Excel.
- Must understand the basic principles and policies of private giving, including confidentiality.
- Commitment to the values of an institution of higher education.
