The Section of Geriatrics and Palliative Medicine at Tulane University is dedicated to advancing health care and quality of life for older people and those with serious illnesses.
- Geriatrics: Our geriatric team partners closely with primary care physicians and specialists across Tulane Medicine — including cardiology, oncology, neurology, transplant, and trauma. Faculty provide specialized consultation for frail, older adults with complex, chronic, or life-threatening conditions such as dementia and delirium.
- Palliative Medicine: Our palliative care team delivers patient- and family-centered care that improves quality of life for those facing life-limiting illnesses by anticipating, preventing, and treating suffering. Services are offered inpatient, outpatient, and in local nursing homes.
Position Highlights
- Provide comprehensive clinical care to geriatric patients across inpatient and outpatient settings.
- Collaborate closely with physicians, nurses, social workers, and other team members to address patients’ physical, emotional, and psychosocial needs.
- Support care coordination and transitions for patients with complex medical conditions.
- Contribute to educational activities and quality improvement initiatives within the section.
