DEPARTMENT: Senior Center
JOB SUMMARY: This position works with the Kitchen Coordinator to create healthy, culturally appropriate menus and meals for the Tribal Elders and Seniors, preparing and cooking means. Provide nutritional value meal information, along with dietary substitutions for clients with medical dietary needs. Interacting with vendors and assisting with the food budget. This position is also responsible helping to create a well-run and efficient kitchen. The person in this position is responsible for courteous and professional interaction with Elderly and Seniors and able to make quick decisions to assist their needs.
COMPENSATION: $25.31 hr.
MINIMUM REQUIRED EDUCATION
High School Diploma or GED equivalent
Associate's Degree in Nutrition, Culinary Arts or related field.* Relevant experience may substitute for the degree requirement on a year-for-year basis.
MINIMUM RELATED EXPERIENCE
Three (3) years of experience working in a full-service restaurant using commercial grade kitchen equipment.
Three (3) years of experience working with Elders and Seniors.
Three (3) years of experience with mass quantity food preparation.
Three (3) years of experience with ordering food and supplies.
REQUIRED LICENSES/CERTIFICATIONS/PREREQUISITES
WA State Driver's License.
Must adhere to the Motor Vehicle Regulations (Abstract Required).
CPR/First Aide Certificate
Food Handler’s permit
Negative TB Skin test or chest x-ray.
Blood Borne Pathogens certificate. *Will allow sixty (60) days to obtain.
Employment is contingent upon successful completion of a pre-employment background check
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: This is a regular Full-Time position.
