The CardioVascular Center at Tufts Medical Center is seeking an adult cardiac surgeon to join its renowned Division of Cardiac Surgery. The ideal candidate will have an interest in end-stage cardiac disease and support the growth of the clinical and academic programs of the Division. Early- and mid- career surgeons, as well as new graduates, are encouraged to apply.
Primary clinical responsibilities will include the broad spectrum of adult cardiac surgery with a special emphasis on heart transplantation and mechanical circulatory support. The recruited surgeon will have ample opportunities to establish a robust practice and advance his/her career.
About the Division of Cardiac Surgery and Tufts Medical Center:
- The Division is part of the CardioVascular Center, an integrated Heart and Vascular Center with financial and strategic alignment across Cardiology, Cardiac Surgery, and Vascular Surgery.
- Has robust and growing interdisciplinary programs in cardiac arrhythmia, structural heart disease, aortic disease, and ischemic heart disease.
- Performs approximately 1,000 cardiac surgical operations per year
- Has one of the largest heart transplant programs in the country; in 2024, Tufts cardiac surgeons performed a record 70 heart transplants, the most of any center in New England.
- Trains the next generation of cardiothoracic surgeons through an ACGME-accredited Thoracic Surgery residency program
Job Requirements:
- Board-Certified or Board-Eligible

- Eager to teach and mentor residents and medical students

Compensation:
The salary range for this position is $430,000.00 to $494,000.00 annually. Actual compensation will be determined during the selection process and is based on a variety of factors, including, but not limited to, relevant experience, education, internal equity, and academic rank.
