What are the responsibilities and job description for the Production Planner position at Tufco L.P.?
Coordinate and project the workflow with the production group based on orders, ship dates and on-hand materials/stock.
Essential Functions:
- Coordinates and projects the workflow with the production group based on orders, ship dates and on-hand materials/stock
- Communicates regularly with inventory and purchasing groups to ensure materials are available
- Purchases and coordinates the delivery of pallets for various suppliers
- Manages daily movements from the warehouse to support productions
- Ensures all shop orders are entered in a timely manner
- Reconciles work orders upon completion
- Provide pricing and productions information for customer’s quotes
- Builds item masters and routers in Global Shop
- Provides timely feedback on order date confirmation for Inside Sales using feedback on operations and procurement
- Participates in weekly management meetings with customer representatives
- Manages, maintains and utilizes the MRP/MPS/CRP and Forecasting modules of Global Shop
- Coordinates the cross-departmental workflow ensuring all resources needed are available
- Provides feedback to site management regarding production planning and maintain efficiency and customer expectations
- Holds regular meetings with key personnel to coordinate and implement work flow
- Complies with Tufco Safety guidelines & principles
Minimum Qualifications:
- Degree in operations, business management or related field and/or equivalent work experience
- 1 years of experience in accounting, production scheduling or inventory control
- Strong attention to detail
- Proficient with computers and Microsoft Office products
- Basic math skills
Work Requirements:
- Understands and complies with all lockout/tagout procedures
- Works in a safe and ethical manner at all times
- Strong interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills
