Maintenance Technician

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: 

•  Perform minor repairs. 

• Check control panels and electrical wiring to identify issues.  
• Install appliances and equipment.  
• Do garden/yard upkeep by mowing lawn, collecting trash, etc.  
• Inspect and troubleshoot equipment and systems. (e.g. ventilation)  
• Check functionality of safety systems. (e.g. fire alarm)  
• Report to a facilities or maintenance manager for issues  
• Conduct routine inspections of premises and equipment.  
• Performing preventative maintenance.  
• Overseeing contractors when professional repairs are necessary.  
• Diagnosing mechanical issues and correcting them.  
• Perform cleaning activities such as dusting, mopping etc.  
• Repairing machines or structures as necessary.  
• Conducts fire drills as assigned.
• Assists with transportation of clients as needed.
• Delivers all packages received. 
• Other duties as assigned 

**Weekend and after hours may occur on emergency or scheduled bases. Must be okay with a Holiday rotation schedule as well  

REQUIRED EDUCATION, CERTIFICATIONS AND/OR EXPERIENCE:   

• High School Diploma/GED.
• Valid Maryland driver’s license. 
• Minimum of three (3) years' experience/ Preferred five (5) years or more. 

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:  

• Basic knowledge of HVAC.  
• Basic knowledge of plumbing.  
• Basic knowledge of electrical systems.  
• Proficient use of a Computer Management Maintenance System (CMMS). 
• Basic knowledge of appliances. 
• Basic knowledge of computer systems (i.e. Microsoft applications- Outlook, Excel, Word)
• Basic knowledge of drywall and painting.  
• Experience using hand and electrical tools.  
• Ability to read technical manuals and drawings. 
• Personal belief in recovery and the recovery process.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with staff, clients, and the public.
• High energy, flexibility, and strong interpersonal skills to work effectively within a team.
• Ability to engage clients flexibly based on their individual needs.
• Respect for and maintenance of professional boundaries with all individuals.
• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions accurately.
• Proficiency in reading, understanding, and speaking English.

Background: This position requires successful background and drug test completion  

Physical Requirements: 

• Prolonged periods standing and walking.
• Must be physically able to climb ladders, bend, or crawl into awkward spaces.
• Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at a time.

The compensation for this position will vary depending on factors such as your location, skills, job-related knowledge, and experience. The compensation package may also include incentive compensation opportunities in the form of discretionary annual bonus.
